Effects on the tree
There are many kinds of trees in the forest. Such as Maple, Oak, Elm, Evergreen, and Cedar. Trees that shed there leaves in the fall live the deciduous forest. Deciduous forest soil is much richer than most soil in other forest, which allows for many plants to grow. Also the forests canopy is much thinner which allows for great light and heat on the forest floor. Allowing more light gives the plants a greater amount of light to photosynthesize, allowing more plants to live. Deciduous trees have leaves that the shed rather than pine needles. Each year deciduous trees loose their leaves each year and then grow them back. In the summer the leaves get so much sunlight and they produce so much photosynthesis that there leaves become a green. As the forest changes seasons and get cooler in the call the leaves begin to fall due to the loose of pigment (chlorophyll) turning the leaves a gorgeous red, yellow and orange color of the leaves during the fall. In the winter the leaves go into dormancy, like a sleep. The cold weather is too cold for them to protect there leaves for the cold temperatures and they simply loose there leaves. The warming of the temperatures help the leaves grow again and start the process all over again.
